 ALTER D6 mount

This drive system from AWR allows operation of the huge ALTER D6 mount up to 0.5 degrees/sec for slewing instead of 16x sidereal rate with the original equipment. The Russian Motors and electronics are replaced by our AWR Microstepping motor assemblies and drive box offering considerably improved torque, smoothness in operation and slew speed. GOTO features on the handset include telescope co-ordinate readout (RA and DEC), entry of new co-ordinates, backlash correction, periodic error calibration etc. Computer connection (optional) allows access to object databases and 'point and click' GOTO's, SYNC and NUDGE functions. The refurbishment involves changing the gear reduction ratio by re-arranging the Russian drive components which is done by AWR to provide you with an optimised and adjusted system. All AWR need is the equatorial head. Faster slew speeds by factory configuration to 24 volt operation. This requires an additional RESISTOR DROPPER BOX.
